For Inspiration’s Sake…

I sit quietly at my desk. Listening to my music. Running my fingers over the keys of my computer. Looking at the thousands of photos I have saved on my computer from rummaging through Google Images to scavenging through the Getty Images Stock photos. Screen blank and mind numb.

And then…it hits me!

Inspiration. Something inspires me to create. The music I’m listening to. A word. A sound. A thought. Or maybe a photo that I scrolled past. The way it made me feel or the message I could convey. Whatever it is, it fills me with ideas that can translate onto my computer screen.

As a graphic designer, creation is at our fingertips. We possess the mind and the tools to get our message across and wow our audience. The question I ask is what inspires you? For inspiration’s sake what are you trying to say, do or prove.

I often see that when I’m trying to create something, I’m never satisfied with what I produce. But once an idea pops in my head my best work comes to life. I have more to say and my message is more powerful.

Inspiration is needed to truly experience art and design. You audience or the people who view your work will gain knowledge of who you are and how you see the world. Inspire them with what inspires you. Create your heart’s desires. Design your world. Live to inspire. Engineer your dreams.
